It's a really good place to eat, the waygu beef is excellent. Being able to eat while watching the cooks do their job is awesome.

Its our false to not observe what kind of food they’re specializing in. The decorations was quite impressive.
Not a fan of steak so we ordered salmon and ginger pork set. Side dishes quite satisfied but some are a bit confuse. The salmon only had few pieces and the taste was average. Ginger pork did not come with any ginger at all.
Then i saw the table next to us ordered some fish steak. It was looking good. Sadly, I didn’t spot it on the menu. Maybe because i was too hungry and rushing to get order.

Two stars... one is for the friendly female staff and another is for decent food. Decent, not amazing. The steaks were a little chewy. Even though, they claimed it to be wagyu. I understand it might not be a prime cut for the price but still... They also have a cover charge ($330 per person) which is clearly for foreigners. It was only on the English menu and not on the Japanese one.
It was a turn off when a male staff told us we have to at least order one drink and cannot only have water. When I ordered a drink, he said he meant one per person. However, my wife cannot drink alcohol, so we could only order one. The whole experience was awkward and felt it was not friendly towards anyone from outside of Japan.
AVOID at all cost unless you have a Japanese friend who takes you here and only have he/she place orders before you even start to speak a foreign language 😐
So so good. Bookmaking this for when we return to kyoto in the future.
